  Cubism was a revolutionary new approach to representing reality invented in around 1907–08 by artists Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque . They brought different views of subjects (usually objects or figures) together in the same picture, resulting in paintings that appear abstract and fragmented. In the Philippines, the best known cubist painter is the National artist from Pampanga ,  Vicente Silva Manansala .  He was of the first Abstractionists in the Philippine art scene.  His paintings depict a nation in transition, an allusion to the new culture brought by the Americans. Manansala together with Fabian de la Rosa are among the best-selling Philippine artists in the West.  Most of the other well known Cubist like Jose Joya and Ang Kiukok are from Luzon and Mindanao.   I've collecting stamps of Philippine Presidents since I was a young boy. My favorite then was the stamp of former President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos . Another favorite to collect was President Cory Aquino . Never would have I imagined that I will someday be collecting his son, our current President - Ferdinand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos . Benji Goyha was born in Samboan , Cebu on October 30, 1957. Though he loved to express himself in painting, he ended up enrolling in architecture at the University of the Visayas , Cebu , Philippines . From 1981-89, he worked as an artist in one of Cebu's leading department store (Robinsons) where he organized art related activities.    His association with the Cebuano artists had been his turning point, going back to painting where he found freedom and satisfaction for his artistic expression.  Samboan Beach 2009 Goyha, later established Print Ideas , his own business in the field of silkscreen printing , currently based in Lapu-Lapu City , but his membership with the Cebu Artists' Incorporated encouraged him to pursue his love for painting.
