Asdang Uswag- A Cebuano Art Exhibit in SM Megamall Art Center

Watch out for the Coming Cebuano Art Exhibit on May 6 Asdang Uswag (Move Forward to Progress) on May 6, 2023 6pm at SM Megamall Art Center Exhibit. Participating artists include Masters Celso Peipito , Jun Impas , Adeste Deguilmo , Antonio Vidal . Established artists abstract expresssionist Lucilo Sagayno , cubist Joel Cristobal , watercolorist and coffee artist Cesar Castillo and many more. Cebuano Artists Painting Collection - Mean Mustard Art (Amihan)

Eggman's Mumbo Assignment, 16x12, Mixed Media (Ink and Gold Leaf), 2023 The Artist Name Mean Mustard came from the song of The Beatles in Abbey Road Album. The name was decided to carry when the artist's nick name is roughly the same with the Song title and artworks subject mainly focuses on The Beatles . Mean was born in 1988 and is a proud Cebuana .  At an early age, she started working with colored pens and oil pastels due to her fascination with anime characters, but this halted for a while due to other priorities. In 2014, she tried doing sketches again using charcoal pencils, this time of human portraits which led to her first commission. FRUITS OF MY BOROBUDUR, INDONESIA JOURNEY. The privileged to be invited to join the EXPRESSION exhibit at Limanjawi Art House in Borobudur, Indonesia was one great opportunity for me to learn and appreciate the arts and culture of the Indonesian people. But being in Borobudur for a week has given me more reasons to be steadfast in my creative journey as art in this area is more alive, most artists has their own studio , embracing the contemporary mode of expression as they  actively create their art. The warmthness and great hospitality of our Indonesian counterparts have even made our stay more precious and enriching. But what really made this trip more fruitful was transforming my time into moments of productivity through SKETCHING . From Cebu , to Manila , to Kuala Lumpur , to Yogjakarta to Borobudur and back, sketching has always been a part of my passion to document this trip.
