Tatak Sugbo- Painting Competition and Unveiling of the Landmarks of the Cebu City Heritage District

  To preserve the rich cultural and historical heritage of Cebu City , Vice Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia spearheaded and concretized the creation of the Cebu City Heritage District . Garcia said the heritage district was created to protect the historical heritage of Cebu City and promote sustainable development within the district. "This will promote tourism, drive economic growth, improve urban landscapes, promote civic pride and identity, diversify local experiences, and elevate the city’s brand,”. He has also enacted policies that safeguard existing cultural assets of the city and “encourage a harmonious blend of old and modern elements.” The district includes heritage buildings and landmarks (identified as significant heritage assets based on their age, architectural. style, and cultural value) and cultural landscapes and public spaces. Unity in Diversity- CAI's 28th Founding Anniversary Art Exhibit

This coming Saturday, August 27 at 6 in the evening at the third level City Wing, SM Seaside City, SRP, Cebu City , Cebu Artists Incorporated will celebrate its 28th Founding Anniversary with an Art Exhibit entitled: Unity in in Diversity. We are encouraging fellow art enthusiasts and collectors to see the exhibit which will showcase the works of famous artists like Master Cubist Celso Pepito , Portrait Master Jun Impas , Master of Distortion Adeste Deguilmo and many more.  Heading the guests of honor is fellow art enthusiast, heritage preservation advocate and supporter, Hon. Raymond Alvin Garcia and wife Kate Roska Garcia . CAI is known for its diverse memberships, thus, the group promotes the individual style of its members as it totally gives freedom to pursue each of their artistic aspirations. CAI is on its third decade of promoting art awareness in Cebu Community and help develop its members into potential pride of Cebu's art and culture.    

Lessons from the Musicians of Bremen

   Once upon a time... an old donkey was ill- treated by his master. Tired of such unkindness, he decided to run away, and when he heard that Bremen was looking for singers with the town band, he decided that someone with a fine braying voice like his might be accepted. As he went along the road, the donkey met a skinny dog , covered with sores. “Come with me. If you have a good bark, you’ll find a job with the band too. Just wait and see!”   A little later, a stray cat , no longer able to catch mice, joined them and the trio trotted hopefully on towards the town. As they passed a farmyard, they stopped to admire an elderly rooster who, with outstretched wings, was crowing to the skies. The donkey, the dog, the cat and the rooster “You sing well,” they told him. “What are you so happy about?”   “Happy?” muttered the rooster with tears in his eyes. “They want to put me in the pot and make broth of me.
