At a younger age while he was still in Surigao , Marlowe has always wanted to become an artist. Deep in his heart he believed the value of his artistry as it manifested even when he was still five years of age. His early fascination with art has motivated him to draw trucks, ships and even bikes.  He recalled that he was one of those many children who loved to draw the images of famous Filipino actors and actresses, especially that of Fernando Poe, Jr. In third year high school, he was introduced to the art of paper cuts which added to his creative skills.  To positively nurture his creativity, he enrolled as one of the many students in an Architectural Drafting class where he gained additional knowledge that positively contributed to his aspiration of becoming a painter. Going into college, Marlowe traveled to Cebu to enrol in a course in Fine Arts at the University of San Carlos , but unfortunately, he was late for the enrollment, making him take up Architecture in C...

Home is of itself an image of tranquility and of simplicity many which to preserve. For some, they have never left its safe confines.   Leodito Rosales Bongo III first solo exhibition, "Distorted Realism," refers to the artist's use of real-world distorted elements while maintaining a sense of realism. “Reflecting Memories Through Realism: Exploring the Fusion of Traditional Oil Painting Techniques with Contemporary Artistic Expression Using Distorted Images of Personal Memento Artifacts and Photographs." Memories are not fully specific, they are fragmented and altered by emotion, so the artist in this exhibition creates a visual representation of a memory through distorted reflections. The spectators will see the perspective of the artist and also feel the emotion and story of those personal memories. The artist has been practicing realism for years, and as a realist artist in a contemporary world, he was challenged to expand his artistic practice by using his knowledge of traditional painting and fusing it with a contemporary expression. In this exhibition, the paintings represent the artist...

"Ultraque Unum" (Both Are One) by Jojo Sagayno The journey of "Ultraque Unum" spanned nearly two years, born from the serendipitous meeting of  Roy Ama  and Jojo Sagayno at Nami Art Gallery in Mandaluyong City, and later, at ArtPortalCebu in Consolacion, Cebu. Their in-depth conversations about abstract art sparked the idea for this unique back-to-back solo exhibition. Both artists firmly believe that abstract art holds promise for the future, although they acknowledge the notion is still debatable. For  Roy and Jojo, abstract art serves as a common ground, allowing them to transcend their individual styles and come together in a shared creative vision. Creating abstract art is a daunting task, akin to capturing the wind or grasping water – elusive and intangible. The ...
