The Visayas Art Fair 2024- Connect, Create, Cultivate

How do you show appreciation for your art and culture? By owning it- it is a piece of your heritage- a future relic. It does not have to be very beautiful or costly. But if it "speaks" to you, acquire it, keep it, because you like looking at it, your descendants will thank you for it. Your painting might be in a Cebu museum in 2068!

Take the time to visit the Visayas Art Fair 2024. Twenty eight galleries from all over the country showcasing deeper visual imageries and a diversity of styles and representations. The VAF aims to expound on the relationship between the visual arts and the creative industries that fuel their economic potential.

The Visayas Art Fair was a historical undertaking in 2021 with the banner, Connecting The Islands Through Art, initiated by the National Commission for Culture and Arts, together with the Cebu Design Week Inc., Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, Sacred Heart School for Boys Batch 1985 Foundation, and the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation to unite the artistry of the three regions (Regions 6, 7 & 8) in the Visayas.

Its initial aim was to present to the world the unique identity of the Visayan arts and culture but has now extended to showcase Luzon and Mindanao arts as well. Now on its fourth year, the event will be happening on November 22-24, 2024 at the Oakridge Business Park, 12th Flr., Oakridge IT Center 3 Bldg, in A.S. Fortuna St., Mandaue City.

Cebu Design Week, Inc. now rebranded as Cebu Culture Art and Design Foundation, the leading organization that supports the creative community in the Visayas, has again partnered with the Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation, Inc., (CFIF), Oakridge Business Park, The Company Cebu and DTI to deliver this project.

Art champions supporting the project are the Ang Bagong Pilipinas, Museums and Galleries, UNESCO National Commission (UNACOM), Airspeed and Oakridge Studio.

"CDW's long-term vision is to foster a vibrant and dynamic creative economy that will bring about monetary and non-monetary benefits to the regions and to the country", Laurie Boquiren, chairperson of the Visayas Art Fair and Cebu Design Week trustee, stated.

Participating groups and galleries include Cebu Manila Art Collective, Fifty One Collective Arthaus, 29Kapitolyo Art Space, Sugbu Creativo Kolektibo, Daloy Likha Gallery and many more.
