Haom- Cebu's First Painted Photography Exhibit

 Experience a unique fusion of photography and painting as seven of Cebu's photographers collaborate with acclaimed visual artist Pierre Famador, in a one-of-a-kind exhibition. 

Pierre Arcillo Famador II (also known as Pikoy) is a prominent contemporary Cebuano painter and digital artist from Busay, Cebu City, Philippines. Born on August 7, 1978, he is highly celebrated for his signature "happy art" style, which prominently captures the warmth of traditional Filipino culture, nostalgic childhood games, and daily moments of joy through vibrant, pastel-toned colors. 

Artistic Background & Education

Education: Graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines Visayas in 2000. 
Early Career: Spent 16 years working in corporate concept design, product presentation, and early-stage digital animation before fully committing to full-time painting in 2016. 

Creative Hub

He returned to his roots in Busay, Cebu, where he opened a unique three-concept space featuring a tattoo parlor, art studio, and barber shop. 

Signature Style & Themes

Visual Identifiers: His most recognizable style features playful, playful characters with distinctive square heads and gap-toothed grins set against bright backgrounds. He also produces handcrafted puppets and pastel-toned figures. 

Core Philosophy: Centered entirely on happiness, positivity, and the idea that a spectrum of color can be found in life's smallest, simplest moments. 

Cultural Preservation: Famador heavily documents Filipino traditions, showcasing localized concepts such as traditional games (Takyan, Pa Ligid), local fishermen (Pangisda), and regional history. 

Photographers featured in the exhibit are: Shiloh Skye Famador, James Canovas Morrel, Gerard Pareja, Bienvenido Salgado, Joel Ribagorda, Jyan Carli dela Vela, Jimmy Wu.

Exhibit is free and runs until September 10, 2026 at the Rizal Museum.

Antipolo Pilgrimage is a month-long celebration that brings devotees and pilgrims to venerate the " Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage " which is enshrined in Antipolo Church in Antipolo City . The National Anthem of Guatemala

Written in response to a contest calling for a national anthem to be adopted, the first ever playing of the winning entry took place during a lyric-literary meeting taking place at the Colon Theater, the night of Sunday 14 March 1897, as one of the main events of the Central American Exposition, and the author of the music -Maestro Rafael Alvarez - was decorated with a gold medal and honor diploma. The author of the lyrics, however, was submitted anonymously, it was not until 1911, when it was discovered that the author was the Cuban poet Jose Joaquin Palma , who on his deathbed was honored with a silver wreath placed on his head, while outside the public and the bands sang the Himno Nacional. The lyrics were modified slightly in 1934 by Professor Jose Maria Bonilla Ruano, a Spanish grammar scholar. Vicente F. Fabell a (1891-1959). Educator, economist, civic leader and the first Filipino certified public accountant . He was the founder of Jose Rizal College .  He was born on May 7, 1891 in Pagsanjan , Laguna , the third of six children of Juan Fabella, who served as mayor of Pagsanjan during the Spanish and American regimes, and Damiana Fernandez.    He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Philippines in 1912 and then continued his studies in the United States, obtaining concurrent degrees of bachelor of philosophy from the University of Chicago and diploma in commerce from Northwestern University in 1915.
